Thatcham Town welcomed AFC Totton to Waterside Park in the Zamaretto One South and West trying to gain ground on the leaders after a loss to VTFC last time out.
Despite the appaling weather conditions Thatcham started the game well and were rewarded with a 30 yard thunderbolt from Dean Stow after 12 minutes. Stefan Brown had a glorious chance to make it 2-0 when one on one with the keeper but spurned it. Thatcham let AFC Totton back into the game on 37 minutes and were soon behind six minutes later from a deflected free kick. Both of AFC Totton's goals were scored by Michael Gosley. Chances were few and far between in the second half and Thatcham eventually lost 2-1.
Thatcham play local rivals Hungerford on Tuesday in a derby sure to be fiercely fought.
