The Mayor of Thatcham says being able to work closely with Newbury Sound is a 'marvellous development.'
Councillor Stephanie Steevenson's been on air with us this morning as we continue our week of celebrations following the launch of your new radio station.
This is what she had to say speaking on Chris Wright At Breakfast: "I've already noticed that we've had your reporter in our Council Chamber twice already, I think that's a marvellous development because it's more contact with local democracy.
"You're paying attention to us so we're going to pay attention to you and may I say you're most welcome."
The Mayor was also very complimentary about people living in Thatcham: "One of the things I've really noticed since I became Mayor in May is the astounding number of volunteers and people who are upbeat about our community, people who give their own time and people who encourage others.
"I'm particularly pleased to note that we've got a massive number of volunteers in Guiding and Scouting and that sort of thing in Thatcham. I've been invited to wonderful things, I've had a super time but I have been astounded at the number of people who want to give their time to the community, it's very healthy." |
