Presenters / Steve Randall
Steve Randall

Monday-Friday: 11am-2pm

Steve's first start in radio was at Oxford's hospital radio station while he was still at school. He got a lucky break aged just 17 and made the move to Newcastle Upon Tyne to work on one of the UK's biggest radio stations, Metro Radio. During his 9 years there he worked his way up from the Nightshift, to evenings, drivetime and the prestigious breakfast show.

After a few years a little further south at TFM Radio in Teesside, where he also presented the breakfast show, and a year in management setting up the area's new classic hits station Magic 1170 he moved back to Oxford to Fox FM.

Six months later he was on the move again having been asked to take over the mid-morning show on Power FM in Fareham where he also covered the Breakfast Show and was one of the main live hosts for Power in The Park on Southampton Common.

In 2001 Steve moved 10 feet down the corridor to Ocean FM, hosting the drivetime show and his legendary 'Skool Daze' show until joining Andover Sound in 2008. During his time at Ocean he also regularly covered the Breakfast Show on Capital Gold across the South coast from the New Forest to Brighton.

Over the years Steve has also broadcast a regular show for a station in Essex (although he never once went there as he did the show from Fareham!) and is heard from time to time on a radio station in Malta (he's never been there either!).

During his 'years in the business', he has produced shows from Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and Disneyland Paris, been the manager of a Frank Sinatra impersonator and a drag act, recorded a live spirit rescue (exorcism), auditioned for Top Of The Pops, interviewed many top stars, co-hosted a pop concert with Pete Waterman, been to Holland to meet the Big Brother creators and almost sold them a TV show idea, worked with the legend that is Sir Jimmy Savile, spent half an hour being bored senseless by Harrison Ford and sailed to New York on the QE2 with them thinking he was a travel writer.

Steve also presents a show down the road at Andover Sound.
