This week is Recycle Week in West Berkshire to encourage us all to think about the rubbish that we throw away and how much of it can actually be recycled.
During this week you'll hear a series of features supporting Recycle Week and how you can get involved too. Chris Wright visited the team at the Household Waste and Recycling Centre in Newbury to find out more.
During the visit, he spoke to Keely Gallagher from Veolia Environmental Services, Hilary Cole from West Berkshire Council and a new initiative called The Community Furniture Project with Derek the project organiser encouraging us to think about who else could benefit from our old sofa, television or microwave.

Inside the Reuse Shed where most of the "rubbish" will be recycled or re-used thanks to the Community Furniture Project

Items such as sofas, tables and chairs will all be reused, rather than dumped in landfill.

Books, records and even a collection of beer mats make it into the Reuse Shed.

These TVs will all be recycled.

The Household Waste and Recycle Centre accepts most things including Clothes and (below) Oil which will be recycled.
