Millions of pounds will be spent to make sure more elderly people in Thatcham will be able to hold on to their independence.

A three million pound grant from a national housing agency will support a new development of 51 new homes, with extra help on hand for older people living there.

Work at Waring Court should be finished by October next year.

There will also be other facilities provided within the development, including a hairdressing salon and restaurant, which will also be used by other people in the local community.
