It's hoped Newbury's new cinema will be so popular it'll pay for itself.

That's the claim by Vue who've spent two and a half million pounds building the seven screen cinema.  

Steve Knibbs is the chief operating officer for Vue and says it's a real dream to be finally opening in Newbury.

He told Newbury Sound: "We've been waiting to come here for about 10 years, so we're really pleased to be here.

"The Council have been very supportive of this scheme and been very helpful. And we're just delighted that finally the scheme is happening and that we're really close to opening day.

"We love opening in new communities, particularly in places like Newbury. If you live in the area you've had to travel to places like Basingstoke or Reading for your cinema and some people can't be bothered, it's just too far to go".
