Kennet Centre Manager, Mag Williams, says Newbury's new cinema could draw in up to 300,000 extra people to the town each year.
The news should offer some reassurance as we've recently been told the cinema opening has been pushed back to later in the month.
Although Vue won't confirm the exact figure they say they're positive the two and a half million pound project will be a great success.
The seven screens were due to open on 6th November but Mag Williams, who's the Centre Manager at Kennet Shopping says: "It's been a long time but it's now at the exciting stage and we're only weeks away from it opening. It means a great deal to a lot of people, it means a lot to us, we're very excited.
"Vue are also very excited about coming to Newbury, they really feel they're going to do very well here. They've already mentioned about attracting in the region of about 300,000 extra people per year, which is quite a lot of people. We're already quite strong on our footfall, so that will add nicely to it." |
