An organisation that hands out cash to charities across West Berkshire says competition for the money is increasing.
The Greenham Common Trust gives out grants ranging from £50 to £10,000 for community projects and says the number of applications has increased in the last couple of years.
But Julian May from the trust says that shouldn't put groups off applying for their autumn funding round - when £125,000 will be given away.
He said: "There's definately more applications for grant aid. We saw that in the last round and we are expecting more applications this time.
"Although we've provided some extra money this year, there's obviously going to be a finite pot.
"It is really important that if you've got a project, if you can work together with a similar organisation to improve that project and perhaps raise some extra funds that will make all the difference."
