A Trustee for a local charity is in training for the challenge of a lifetime.
Richard Groome has decided to cycle the entire length of the UK in just 22 days. That's 12 1,201 miles from Lands End to John O'Groats, pulling a 30 kilogram trailer with everything he needs to camp along the way.
It's the first time a challenge like this has been attempted solo, all off road.
He sets off on 16th May and hopes to raise thousands of pounds for Kingsclere-based charity 4 Cancer.
Richard says: I'm doing it to raise money and awareness for a charity called 4 Cancer, of which I am a Trustee.
"The idea is that we can then take people on respite activities that are going through cancer treatments. So it's really me doing something that's a challenge to help improve the quality f life for people who are going through their own challenge - which is coping with cancer.
