Police have arrested two men on suspicion of burglary after they were allegedly found going in to derelict buildings in Newbury.

Officers say it happened in Willow Close at around 1am on Saturday.

It is claimed that when the men were confronted by police they ran off, but were then arrested in Andover Road.

Fifty two year old Frank Heap from St George's Avenue in Newbury has been charged with burglary with intent to steal and is due in court in July.

A 29 year old man from Newbury was also arrested and has now been bailed to return to Newbury Police Station at the end of this month.
